Blankets My Mom Made For the Babies!!

Is this not the cutest thing you've ever seen? My Mom made these crib/cot blankets for the babies. The fact that they are made by "Grandma" makes them that much more special! Thank you Mom. We LOVE them!!!

Couples & Skype Baby Showers!!

We don't even know where to begin in thanking our friends and family for all of their love, support, and generosity. Andrew and I both feel so incredibly lucky to have so many people who love us and these babies! Over the last week we've had 3 baby showers and now have so much of what we need to get us started!
We can't thank everyone enough for coming to our showers. We love you, thank you for your generosity and are are truly soooo appreciative of everything you've done for us and our babies!
An extra special thanks to our friends and family who organized and hosted these showers for us:

Thank you SO much to Andrew's Mom (Lou) and our great friends Sean, Kobie & Maria for our fabulous couples shower here in SA! We loved EVERY second of it!!!

And HUGE thanks to my amazing friend Robin, my Mom (Shireen) and my sister Meagan for holding Skype showers for us in the States. I miss you all terribly and was so thankful to see everyone even if it was only through the computer :)

You all put in SO much effort and threw us such nice showers! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! We love you!!

We really do feel very overwhelmed by everyone's love and generosity and are really so grateful so THANK YOU again!! The babies (I still can't believe that's a plural :)) say thank you too!

We played a really fun game of Diaper Olympics at our SA shower. It was hysterical how much people got into it. Some pics below. You'll see people were off to the races and so much so that they even powdered the people on their team! They were rocking the babies after and doing anything they could to win. It was hysterical. A special shout out goes to Kevin. He was on a team full of Moms and was the only one who knew how to fold a cloth diaper/nappie! Well done Kev!!
Thanks so much again to everything for being so incredible. We love you!!!!

Belly Pics

Andrew's name for me is Belly Boop because all you can see when you look at me is this belly. Hee hee!!! The belly is growing by the day which is a very good thing because it means the babies are too :)

Scan 27 Weeks & 5 Days

We were told to pack a hospital bag when we went for our scan last Friday. Because Angel's growth had slowed at our previous scan I think they were worried that it was going to continue to taper off and that they'd want to admit me so they could start monitoring the babies. We first went to Panorama hospital to see our OBGYN and he confirmed that I'm very healthy. Blood pressure low, no infection, and cervix is dynamic, but holding ok :)

We then went to see the specialist, Dr. Morris, and we all had such an amazing surprise! Not only were the babies healthy, but little Angel's growth rate had increased! In the previous weeks the growth had only been around 70g per week and in the last 2 weeks it was 120g per week! On average they'd like to see growth of 150g per week! Given the marginal cord insertion the doctor was shocked and has no explanation, but we were all SO happy and thankful! Now Angel weighs 861 grams and Blessing 1083 grams. Both babies have very healthy blood flow, heart rates, development, etc! The bedrest, drugs and all of the happy, healthy thoughts being sent our way is working!! YAY!! We are truly soooo grateful!!

I've now been on bedrest for 6 weeks and have to stay here. Even though bedrest isn't fun ... I'll stay put if it means that the babies stay inside and continue to be healthy! Right now they are predicting they'll come to see the world between 30 and 32 weeks, but I'm hoping the power of positive thinking will keep them inside until at least 35 weeks!!

It's amazing how quickly these little ones grow and change. If you look at the third picture you'll see that you can now make out the front of the babies' faces. You can see their eye lids move and you can even see them drink! It's so incredible.

My Mom and sister Meagan sent the babies' mobiles for their cots and they are absolutely adorable!! Thanks so much!! I can't wait until I can put them up! The babies room is coming together slowly but surely :)

Baby Showers Galore!

We have the most amazing friends and family who've been there to support us the whole way! We really don't know what we would do without them and we talk about how lucky we are to have so many people who love us every single day!

We were planning to travel back to the States again before the babies' were born so we could celebrate with everyone, but with monochorionic twins my Dr. wouldn't let me fly that far! Since we couldn't be there in person both my Mom, Meagan and Robin asked if they could hold Skype Showers for us! They're getting everyone together and I'll skype in from the couch...my daytime bed :)! They are coming up soon and I'm SO excited to see and chat to everyone!

Above is the picture of the adorable invite that my Mom sent out. Robin's sweet invite is below!

Some great friends of ours (Sean, Kobie & Maria) and Andrew's family are also holding a shower for us at Eventide this Saturday! We decided to do a couple's shower so that all of our friends and Andrew's family can celebrate with both of us! They put together the cutest Evite invitation (see below)!

We are so thankful for everything that everyone is doing for us and are so excited for our upcoming showers!
