Caelyn & Kylie Becoming More Alert

This is Grandma Shireen writing. I arrived in South Africa last Sunday and am really enjoying my time with my grand babies! It's been so fun getting to know these little munchkins :)

Our little girls are growing quickly and becoming so much more alert. Quite often they are staying awake for short periods of time after their feedings. They are also becoming more aware of their surroundings - including each other and their toys. In addition, Caelyn has started rolling from her side onto her back.

We took them for their injections on Thursday. They did very well, but it was so sad to hear them scream from the pain of the needles in their tiny legs. The Dr. also weighed them and we were both shocked at how much they'd grown in just 2 weeks! Caelyn gained 340g, now weighs 3.33kg (7lbs 5oz) and is 53cm long. Kylie gained 400g so is now only 400g behind Caelyn (vs. 500g), weighs 2.94kg (6lbs 7oz) and is 50cm long.

The weather's been really nice so we've been taking them for walks on the farm almost every day. We put them in slings and off we go with all 7 dogs too!

They turn 2 months old this Sunday! We'll take some Birthday pictures of them then, but here are a few pictures we've taken in the last week for you to look at in the meantime:

Some New Pics of the Twins :)

We're happy to report that the girls are doing SO well! They are growing really fast and now weigh 2.5kg (Kylie) and 3.0kg (Caelyn). They've been home from the hospital exactly 3 weeks today and we've all survived :) We've celebrated two Birthdays already.... their 1 month old Birthday on Aug. 25th and their full term Birthday on Sept. 5th. We are sleep deprived, but loving having them home and watching them develop! They are both becoming so much more alert and have even started looking at us. They are also now looking at the stuffed animals on their cot mobile, making tons of cute noises, etc!

I have more pics that I have yet to download from the camera that I'll post soon, but here's a few that I took last week for now!
